Picturebook / VR

As Ishtar’s final degree project at Konstfack, Univeristy of Arts Crafts and Design, she explored the different worlds of two and three dimensionality in picture book storytelling. Together with Dr. Heather Briscoe they created a story which she translated into an interactive Virtual Reality experince. Exploring the materiality & qualities of paper-cut illustrations in a 3D world & the effects of how picturebook environments are translated into ones surrounding.

The story

Tells about a little creature and their realtonship and understanding about nature through family bonds. Each moment with a dear family member teaches this creature about some part of nature’s cycle. Twelve spreads with diffrenet natural landscapes recreated into VR environments that let’s the reader immerse into the picturbook landscapes.
