From Lived Experience to Collective Artwork

In collaboration with Temple Children, Zonta Club of Hilo, and the Office of the Prosecuting Attorney in Hawaii, a creative residency and workshop series was conducted with a group of local women who shared the experience of surviving domestic abuse. Through visual storytelling, illustration, and color exploration, participants developed artworks rooted in their personal and collective experiences.

Documented by Nā Leo TV, the resulting collective artwork was unveiled in a public ceremony at the Prosecuting Attorney’s Office. The piece is now permanently displayed in the lobby of the Hilo office, serving as a public statement and awareness tool addressing domestic violence.
